The excavator lifts very high loads. With the cab orientated perpendicularly to the track, the road-rail excavator can lift more than 4t at 4m from track centre, a performance very hard to match. The road-rail excavator proposed by Railshine Rental offers a key advantage: it doesn’t have any oscillating rail axle. The manufacturer designed the rail axle arms so that there are flexible enough to successfully pass the track twists, and strong enough to bear off-centred loads without the need of locking any rail axle. The driver has a particular interest in this feature since, finally, it exists one machine that enables to travel back and forth on the rail track with an off-centered load, without need of locking/unlocking an oscillating rail axle, knowing that this operation is very often needed during earth-moving works.
The hi-rail excavator is designed to lift heavy loads from the rail tracks, at 360°. Indeed, when it is perpendicular to the track, the road-rail excavator can lift more than 4t at 4m from track centre and more than 2t at 6m. When operating along the track axis, the excavator lift more than 11t at 3m from rotation center.
The SMART-CS is unparalleled for its ergonomics and safety levels, enabling to work under live overhead catenary system and with the next track open to traffic. Unlike other exisisting systems, the UNAC SMART-CS is an ultimate system entirely designed for the use on the rail tracks. For instance, the system is capable to calculate all booms angle in order to automatically and in real-time define the height limit for the booms so that the machine could be used in optimal conditions under catenary or under civil engineering structure.
In order to ensure proper and safe acceleration and braking of the vehicle, the road-rail excavator was subject to a thorough research program defining the best possible acceleration and deceleration ramps in hydrostatic mode. The machine could therefore be electronically set up for an optimal braking, to best meet to all meteorological conditions and track geometries.
